Define the purpose first
Explain the specific business need before enabling location. The employer must stay within lawful monitoring limits and give workers and relevant representatives clear prior information about the system and their rights.
Use only what the purpose needs
A location captured for a clock-in does not automatically justify continuous tracking. Review necessity and proportionality, including whether a less intrusive method would achieve the same objective.
Vehicles can reveal employee information
Fleet location can also show where a person is. AEPD identifies safeguards for private use, including disabling tracking. Do not assume that installing GPS in a company vehicle removes the need to protect worker data.
Plan a useful test
Use a test device and a fictional workplace to check when data is captured, who can see it and what happens when no position arrives. A last-known position needs its timestamp; it is not proof of where someone is now.
Use SLNTask deliberately
The preview lets you organise centres, vehicles and devices. Live hardware validation and launch privacy procedures remain to be completed. The public website and helper do not request location or access employee records.
